  1. I agree. I think the best thing to do is to slow down ahead of time where there are pedestrians and puddles and so you don’t have to do an abrupt change of speed to avoid splashing a pedestrian.

    We are well familiar with rain here in Houston and wet roads and puddles and worse. Since it is so flat here if the rain comes down in earnest the drains are hard pressed to take it all and streets routinely flood. The newscasters typically report the worst of the street flooding and warn motorists to avoid those areas. For those of us who live here, we are familiar with the areas that typically flood. It is hard to know just by looking how deep a puddle is. You have given good advice in your hub. The best advice of all is to avoid driving into puddles or rain filled streets if at all possible. Up and useful votes.
