I Agree with you ! I have been both a distracted driver and pedestrian, we need to be aware of all dangers , work together as a community ! To keep our children and families safe 🙂

  2. hey did you read the posting on yahoo that has a story about 10 and 2 its a good story.

  3. “As a driver, we must remember that not all pedestrians are drivers and therefore don’t think like drivers. ”

A very good point, especially when you are talking about kids. Kids don’t always think before they act so driver’s have to take extra precaution. You can’t count on someone else being aware of what is going on.

Thanks for bring this topic up. I think its extemely important that texting is carried out in safe situation, regardless whether you are driving, riding or walking.

  5. This is a great post! Education is definitely the key – not only for kids, but also the wider public. A serious problem is that a lot of people see distracted walking as a bit of a joke – “remember that time you walked into a pole? hahaha” – while unfortunately not considering the more serious effects it can have. It is so important for people to understand the dangers of distracted walking, as it impacts upon others as well as themselves (imagine being the driver of a car that hits a distracted walker).
